Winter training

It is a given that February is cold in Canada. On this date, the high temperature reached minus 2.8 Celsius (30 F); the low was minus 12.8 C (9 F). A trace of snow fell.(1)

It was much the same weather as a few days previously, when Toronto recruits practiced digging trenches and filling sandbags, in a stiff breeze.
