Home leave surely means laundry.

This advertisement, featuring Little Bo-Peep leading a crowd of cheerful soldiers, appeared in the April 1916 issue of The Canadian Magazine, published by the Ontario Publishing Company of Toronto. Its monthly issues sold for 25 cents and featured articles and essays on current events, war heroes, Canadian history and geography, as well as fiction and book reviews.  It is available from the Early Canadiana Online collection.
