Witley, February 25, 1917

Sunday    Stayed in all day

It was a quiet day even for those who weren’t in quarantine. Archie Wills’s diary says only “Weather fine. Nothing doing.”

This photograph from Percy’s large album bears the caption “A day of rest at Witley, February 1917.” It’s not clear what is lying on the ground at their feet, but to judge by the aprons, I’d guess the caption is ironic.
