The new quarantine regulations were required, according to the War Diary, because “the amount of infectious disease – measles, diphtheria, mumps etc: is holding up training throughout the area.” (1)

It also noted that the horses in the divisional artillery were showing the effects of their “recent hard work & are being eased off as far as is possible.”(1)
