Witley, June 11, 1917

Monday         Gas drill this morning with respirators[.] cleaned up & repaired in preparation for tomorrow. I received the lost mail today 8 letters from [Janie]. dates ranging from Mar 16 to April 20 its been to France Weather great a little storm this evening am in the pink.

Those letters of Janie’s would have been addressed to Percy in the 81st Battery, which left for France on March 19th, leaving his section behind in quarantine, to become part of the 55th Battery.

This is today’s plan, according to the syllabus for the 13th Brigade’s training this week. (1) Tomorrow after stables they are to take part in the first of three days of a divisional artillery scheme.
